Day 116
“It used to be that people needed products to
survive. Now products need people to
survive.”
~ Nicholas
Johnson
With the mass amount of books and other products available
on the market today, no one NEEDS our book to survive. However, if we want our
books to survive, they need people to buy and read them. The marketplace has
shifted on its axle.
That’s why book marketing is important. People need us to
tell them why they should buy our book instead of Suzy’s. They need to know
what the difference between Tommy’s book and ours is. Our marketing efforts
should be conducted with that in mind. Are we giving them a reason to buy our
book? Are we telling them why it’s important? Without us as our books
messenger, it will just blend in as one more thing they don’t really want to
spend their money on.
Marketing prompt:
Write a blog post about how your book will improve a
reader’s life (be it purely entertaining, or very serious).
